This is a mid 1800's romanticized image of the late
Renaissance or early Baroque. In France that is known as Henry IV-style, which
was popular with the bourgeoisie, coming into their own during the second half
of that century. The work might well be French, perhaps even from a famous manufacturer like Aubusson, but could have been made in a number of countries, like Belgium,
as well.
